Services and Opportunities for Veterans at FDU

Our Community Salutes

At its third annual ceremony, Our Community Salutes of North Jersey recognized New Jersey high school students enlisting in the U.S. military. Video from the event can be viewed online.

Veterans Day

A contingent of FDU veterans and their supporters marched in the 2017 Veterans Day Parade in NYC, as they have for many years. The University's commemoration of Veterans Day included ceremonies at the Metropolitan Campus and Florham Campus, followed by the trip into New York City to march.

Veteran Entrepreneurs

Veterans who are current or aspiring entrepreneurs can enroll in the Veterans Launching Ventures program. This unique program combines in-person instruction with online education, and active mentorship to provide skills and support so that you can and launch and/or grow your business.

About Student Veterans

Listen to Dr. Jason Scorza of the FDU Veterans Education Task Force discussing the unique challenges faced by today's veterans on campus. Scorza is heard on Northeast Public Radio. Also see the powerful article in FDU Magazine on the successes of FDU's student-veterans.

Academic Opportunity for Veterans

FDU has been educating America's veterans since 1946, and offers a variety of academic programs. FDU is a proud participant in the GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program, which allows a 100% eligible veteran to attend an FDU undergraduate, graduate, or certificate program at no cost. Depending on your area of study, you can attend FDU in any of three modalities; please follow the links below to gain additional information about the particular FDU academic program that best fits your your career and life goals.

For information regarding other FDU services available to veterans, including eligibility and financial information, or other resources outside this University, please see the navigation links in the column to the upper left on this page.

Our two northern New Jersey campuses provide the widest range of academic programs and study options.

Metropolitan Campus: With ample on-campus housing and extensive evening programs for working commuters, our Metropolitan Campus bridges the residential communities of Teaneck and Hackensack. A relaxed suburban setting just ten miles from New York City, the Metropolitan Campus attracts a diverse student population.

Florham Campus: Ideal for students choosing to reside on campus, but also convenient for commuter students. Situated in Madison, NJ, the Florham Campus is located on picturesque grounds near historic Morristown.

No matter where you live in the State of New Jersey, chances are that FDU offers a program in a location close to you. FDU offers courses, select degree completion programs, and select graduate programs on-site in dozens of New Jersey locations, including schools, police academies, medical centers, National Guard armories, and the campuses of several New Jersey community colleges. FDU is the only university in this State to offer programs in every county.

Pursue an Associate's, Bachelor's, or one of four Master's degrees, in fully online classes that do not require any time on campus. FDU online students include active duty service members and members of the National Guard.

To apply for undergraduate admission at FDU, please contact the Office of Veteran Services at (201) 692-7085. Please note that depending upon your choice of academic program, you may be required to submit your high school transcript (or GED), SAT or ACT scores.

Eligibility for Chapter 33 benefits does not guarantee admission to FDU.

Eligibility for Chapter 33 benefits is determined by the Veterans Administration - not by FDU.

Information was collected from the website of the Department of Veterans Affairs and is accurate to the best of our knowledge at this time. Veterans should rely on official VA documentation and policies in determining their individual eligibility for educational benefits.
