Accessing the FDU Online Library
While the Giovatto Library has a collection of print journals, magazines and newspapers, many of the articles are available online through the Online Library.
From the Library webpage, select FDU Online Library from the tool bar on the left side.
For more convenient searching, our databases are grouped by subject but they can also be searched by title through the Online Library A to Z. The small compass next to the name of the database indicates that there is a guide available for that database.
Select the database you wish to use. You can use a basic search or an advanced search.
You can limit your search to articles in full text.
You can also limit Scholarly or Peer Reviewed journals. A peer reviewed journal (also called refereed) is one where the articles are written by experts and reviewed by other experts in the field before the article is published in the journal. This insures quality and accuracy.
Full articles are available in PDF and HTML formats.
Once you have selected your article, you can print it or e-mail it. On several databases, you can also obtain your citation which is ready to be copied and pasted into your Works Cited page.
The FDU Online Library is always being expanded with new databases. Please be sure to consult with a reference librarian who can guide you to the best databases for your research.
Thank you for supporting Your Library!
