Enrollment open for spring certificate courses for nonprofit executives

The Center for Excellence in Leadership, Governance and Philanthropy at Fairleigh Dickinson University will launch their Spring Certificate programs on February 28, 2017. The seven-week programs focus on supporting emerging and current professionals who wish to be high performance leaders in executive management, board leadership, and executive philanthropy, as well as those seeking to transition to the nonprofit sector.

The Center is part of the Continuing Education Department at Fairleigh Dickinson University and is led by an Advisory Board of prominent nonprofit executives. Chair of the Board, Sally Glick, is Principal and Chief Growth Strategist for Sobel & Co, LLC a Certified Public Accounting and Advisory firm based in Livingston, NJ. Under Sally’s leadership, the Board will continue to focus on attracting course facilitators with a breadth of understanding in the nonprofit arena coupled with subject matter expertise. Glick states “We look forward to another semester of programming that really addresses the most pressing issues facing nonprofit leaders who are both experienced and emerging."

Students are offered a choice of three different Certificate Programs:

·       Executive Nonprofit Leadership

·       Executive Philanthropy and Resource Development

·       Nonprofit Essentials

Classes are taught at several off-site nonprofit facilities in addition to our FDU Metropolitan Campus in Hackensack, NJ and the FDU Florham Campus in Florham Park, NJ. Program fees and details about each Certificate may be found on The Center’s website at http://fdu.edu/cfe.

About The Center for Excellence at Fairleigh Dickinson University

The Center for Excellence: Leadership, Governance & Philanthropy at Fairleigh Dickinson University was envisioned and established to be the leading education support and training center dedicated to ensuring effective leadership in the nonprofit community. The Center is designed as a resource for emerging or ascending leaders in executive management, board leadership, and executive philanthropy. Our programs are targeted to those who aspire to be future nonprofit leaders as well as those individuals who want to increase their skill sets and individuals seeking to increase their organization's performance and results. Our instructors are proven successful leaders with particular expertise who will also serve as mentors for the students. In addition to classroom instruction, our students will participate in field visits to select high performing organizations to learn from those currently recognized for excellence in their respective fields. Also, each Certificate Program will have a limited annual enrollment to allow the students to develop supportive work groups in the classroom, field visits and case studies culminating in an annual graduation ceremony.
