FDU's Gene Barnett Speaker Series Celebrates 40th Year- Pulitzer Prize - winning author Richard Russo

Teaneck, NJ (March 1, 2017) ­– The Gene Barnett Literary Speaker Series of Fairleigh Dickinson University will feature Pulitzer Prize - winning novelist and screenwriter Richard Russo on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. The title of his talk is “An Evening with Richard Russo.”

Russo is the author of eight novels including Empire Falls, awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2002 and adapted into an HBO Emmy Award-winning miniseries starring Paul Newman and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Russo’s latest novel, Everybody’s Fool, is a best-seller and a New York Times notable book. Jennifer Maloney in The Wall Street Journal describes it as “a madcap romp, weaving mystery, suspense and comedy in a race to the final pages.”

His other works include Elsewhere: A Memoir, Straight Man, That Old Cape Magic and The Whore’s Child and Other Stories.

Russo holds a bachelor’s degree, a master of fine arts degree and a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Arizona.

The lecture will be held at 8 p.m. in the Wilson Auditorium, Dickinson Hall, Metropolitan Campus. Copies of Russo’s books will be available for signing after the Q & A session.

The evening is open to the general public with tickets at $10 per person. Tickets will be available at the door starting at 7:15 p.m. on the night of the lecture. The event is free to faculty, staff and students with valid FDU IDs. There is no advance ticket sales or reserved seating.
