Rebecca Maxon

Rebecca Maxon, associate director of communications and publications, has been with FDU since 1996. She is editor of the University's flagship publication, the award-winning FDU Magazine and its online counterpart.

A 2000 graduate of FDU's MA in corporate and organizational communication program, Rebecca also has a dual-major BA in communications and English from Rutgers University.

Rebecca is a key member of the Office of Communications. In addtion to her magazine duties, she is responsible for the production of simple publications for the Office of Alumni Relations and Office of University Advancement. Rebecca is also administrator of an online photo database available to the entire University community at

Under her guidance, FDU Magazine has been awarded several recognitions over the years, including the Award for Publications Excellence (APEX) Grand Award for the Summer/Fall 2013 issue. A feature article written early in her time at FDU, “Mind Over (Robotic) Matter,” was the cover story of the Fall/Winter 2002 issue, which won a 2003 APEX Award of Excellence for magazine and journal writing. Short Abstract

Rebecca Maxon is associate director of communications and publications at FDU and is editor of the University's flagship publication, FDU Magazine.

FDU’s Office of Communications includes professionals working in public relations, telecommunications, publications, and Web-site development. This department provides a wide range of promotional assistance and interacts heavily with the University community of faculty, students and staff, as well as with the external communities in which our campuses are located.

The Office of Communications is located on the third floor of Dickinson Hall on the Metropolitan Campus.
