Before coming to FDU in 2006 Marina was a clinical instructor of Dental Hygiene at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, today Rutger's School of Health Professions. Marina is an active member of the NJ Dental Hygienist Association having held the office of secretary from 2006 to 2008 and attending national conferences in Washing DC 2006, New Orleans, LA- 2007 and Albuquerque NM - 2008 as a state representative.

She is also active in the politics of her native country the Dominican Republic where she has served on the Committee for the 2012 Dominican Governmental Aspirations in NJ, a delegate for the National Dominican Presidential elections, Hackensack, NJ 2006, 2008 and 2012.

While at FDU, Marina is active in the Faculty for Freshmen committee promoting and advocating freshman student needs and services. She was instrumental in the formation of the Latino Promise Program increasing enrollment through innovative recruitment strategies including

  • Visited over thirty area high schools promoting LP
  • Participated at various conferences and gala's representing LP
  • Introduced the Latino Promise Program to over 2000 high school seniors
  • Facilitated Financial Aid workshops including parent loans seminars in Spanish and English
  • Interviewed & accepted over 200 high school seniors to begin LP Fall 2010
  • Promoted LP on WFDU FM
  • Recorded audio announcement of programs in Spanish and English for both LP

Mrs. Collado also presented on the past, present, and future of Latino students at FDU during the 2011 Hispanic Heritage month celebration at the Frank Giovatto Library.
