Joseph Cook

Professor Cook has been with Fairleigh Dickinson University since 2000 and helped the CJ program launch into cyber space with their first on-line classes. Since 1986, Professor Cook has been a police officer with the Fair Lawn Police Department, spending time in patrol, community policing, and Strategic Planning. Currently assigned as a Captain in the capacity of  Operations Division Commander with the Fair Lawn Police Department.  Professor Cook earned a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Administration with a minor in Public Administration from William Paterson University. He then went on to receive a Masters degree in Education from Seton Hall University. Additionally, Professor Cook is a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command, West Point's Command and Leadership School, and the New Jersey Certified Public Manager program. Professor Cook is also board certified in private security earning his CPP (Certified Protection Professional) in 2005.  Prof. Cook can be reached at
