Joan Desilets

Professor of Health and Physical Education

B.S., M.Ed., East Stroudsburg University

My career has evolved around a strong desire to serve the needs of students in an academic community. Fairleigh Dickinson University has provided me many wonderful opportunities to so. However, the one position that I have always cherished is that of professor. To draw students into a new awareness of who they are and how they may better their lives through physical activity has been my career goal since a very young age. It is a pleasure to be part of a community that embraces this goal and provides learning opportuntites for this to happen.

Experiences in my later life have taken me around the globe and have given me a much better understanding of the world in which we live. This has broadened my ability to teach in the University Core department in which I teach Global Issues and the American Experience.
