Geoffrey Weinman

Dean, Becton College of Arts and Sciences

I joined the University and the Department of English on the Florham campus in 1968. Over the years, I have served in a variety of capacities: Director of Freshman Writing, Department Chair, Assistant Dean of Becton College, Assistant Provost of the Teaneck-Hackensack campus, Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs, and, for six years, Vice President of Academic Affairs. In 2005, I was named Acting Dean of Becton College. The following year, I became permanent Dean of the college.

My areas of interest include American literature, most particularly 19th century writers such as Henry James, Poe, Hawthorne, Twain and Melville, as well as drama and film.
