Credentials, capsule biography:
Chris Groff is currently the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey's largest private institution for higher education. He is responsible for all three campuses - Madison, Teaneck and Wroxton, UK. Chris recently accepted this position after a three-year stint as Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Rutgers University, where he specialized in fundraising and external relations. Chris is also a Communications professor at Rutgers and FDU, teaching one class per semester in Communications and PR. Prior to his current stint at Rutgers, Chris was the PR and Analyst Relations Manager at Aptegrity, a web maintenance firm based in New Jersey. Chris was also a PR and Marketing Manager for the State of NJ under Governor Whitman’s administration, working for both the Office of Information Technology and the Chief Information Officer. Prior to that, he was one of the first PR and Marketing managers for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, placed into the position through the Governor's Management Program. Chris is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds a B.A. in Communications. He received his M.S. in Public Policy from Michigan State University, where he was a Global Young Scholar and focused on tourism and environmental policy development. Chris regularly offers presentations on corporate and foundation giving, and also has his own consulting practice in PR, Marketing and fundraising management.
