STEM Symposium 2013
Symposium on Decoding The Next Generation Science Standards
The STEM Institute of Education (SIE) at Fairleigh Dickinson University invited STEM educators and administrators to attend a statewide, free symposium to discuss the Next Generation Science Standards. The symposium was hosted by SIE and The Record on October 25, 2013.
The event was attended by over two hundred and forty k-12 STEM teachers and administrators with standing room only for most of the sessions. The feedback from the participants was extremely positive.
Featured presenters included Mr. Michael Heinz, Science Coordinator for New Jersey Department of Education, and Mr. Daniel Menelly, Vice President of STEM education at the Liberty Science Center. The program was informative and fast paced with experienced scientists and researchers conducting workshops during the breakout sessions. Attendees received professional development credit. Breakfast and lunch was also included.
