Effective Workplace Communication Bootcamp
Communicating effectively in the workplace is an essential skill for today's employee. Employers value professionals who can clearly articulate their ideas, both within the organization and beyond. Fairleigh Dickinson University's Effective Workplace Communication Bootcamp gives professionals the vital communication tools they need to succeed in the workplace. The six-hour Bootcamp covers practical business communications, with a concentration on verbal and email communication. The class will include topics such as:
- Writing clear and effective emails, memos, and letters
- Email etiquette
- Managing phone calls well
- Developing an elevator pitch (making a pitch in 60 seconds)
- Global approaches to verbal communication
- Running effective meetings
About the Instructor
Susan Fowler has taught professional and technical communication at Fairleigh Dickinson for 27 years. She worked at Telcordia Technologies (now iconectiv, an American subsidiary of the telecommunications company Ericsson) as a usability engineer. She also worked at Keynote Systems and at Doubleclick as a usability analyst. And at EJV Partners, a fixed-income data analysis firm, that was purchased by Reuters, as a technical writer. She currently works as a program manager at City Harvest.
