Student Events (Vancouver Campus)
Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. The organization has a membership of about 270,000. These members are given the chance to improve their public speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 13,000 clubs that make up a global network of meeting locations. A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants sharpen their public speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere. There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting, instead members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success. Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.
Toastmasters happens in Room 130 every Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Come and join us!
