DAAD Young Ambassadors Program 2017/18
Sahyra Lora Nova, a hospitality and tourism management student at the Vancouver Campus, was named DAAD young ambassador for the 2017–2018 academic year. The German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst — DAAD) is an organization that promotes higher education in Germany and provides funding to study and research there. The Young Ambassadors honor students who have studied, researched or interned in Germany in the previous academic year.
Lora Nova finds cultural awareness to be a much-needed trait in today’s world; therefore, she pursued a first-hand experience by spending the spring semester at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen, Germany. As a DAAD young ambassador, Lora Nova will promote study and research in Germany through the University’s study-abroad office, volunteer at study-abroad fairs, organize classroom visits and information sessions, and answer student inquiries.
