Ranked Among Top Universities
Fairleigh Dickinson University has been named among the best universities in the country in a variety of rankings that considered quality and value of education as well as the success of its graduates. The most recent honors came from US News & World Report, Money magazine, Value Colleges and Nonprofit Colleges Online.
In the 2018 rankings by the US News & World Report, FDU was ranked eighth in New Jersey and 64th in the Regional Universities North category. In its rankings, US News evaluates schools based on their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators excellence such as graduation rate performance rank, alumni giving, graduation and retention rates, undergraduate academic reputation, faculty resources (class size and student-to-faculty ratio), student selectivity and financial resources.
In addition, US News ranked FDU 36th in Best Colleges for Veterans and 22nd in Best Value Schools, and University programs were cited among Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs and Best Business Programs. As part of its annual “Best Colleges” rankings project, Money magazine ranked FDU number 5 in the nation for “The 50 Colleges That Add the Most Value” list. Colleges across the country were reviewed based on graduation rates, earnings and student loan repayment.
“Money magazine’s ranking of Fairleigh Dickinson University in the top 10 percent of colleges in the U.S. for increasing student economic mobility is an affirmation of what we have long known — namely that FDU provides a high-quality education, and an FDU degree prepares students for successful careers,” said President Christopher Capuano.
In the magazine’s overall college rankings, FDU placed fourth in New Jersey in the “Best Colleges For Your Money” list. This list, which featured the top 711 colleges in the nation, combined educational quality, affordability and alumni success. FDU was ranked third in Value Colleges’ list of the “Top 10 Best Online Colleges in New Jersey.” Offering 14 online programs, the University was commended for its BA in individualized studies program, which is designed specifically for working adult learners.
According to Value Colleges, “this program allows students to earn their bachelor’s degree through a combination of transfer credits, work experience and alternative credits in addition to FDU online courses.” To view the rankings go to http://www.valuecolleges.com/rankings/online-colleges-new-jersey/.
Nonprofit Colleges Online released its 2017 rankings of Best Online Master’s in Electrical Engineering Programs, where FDU placed third. For its rankings, the site chose programs from well-regarded universities and colleges that have lower than average tuition costs and are accredited by independent and trusted accreditation boards — highlighting schools that put education before their bottom line.
