Selecting A Room

Only students that submitted their Housing Application & $200 residence hall deposit, by the April 1 deadline, qualify to participate in Keep My Room Day or Priority Room Selection Day.

Students that submitted their housing application, or their $200 residence hall deposit, after the April 1 deadline, will only be able to participate in our General Room Selection process beginning April 14.

How do I begin the process of selecting my room?
The first step is to log-in to MyHousing.

Once I log-in, where do I select my room?
In the "Room Selection" tab at the top of the page, click "Select a Room or Suite".

On Keep My Room Day (April 11), when will I be able to log-in to MyHousing to select my same room?
Room selection times are not assigned for Keep My Room Day. If you are eligible to participate in Keep My Room Day, it will be indicated at the bottom of the page in the "Room Selection" section. You will be able to select your room anytime between 9am and 5pm. You will only be able to view and select the room you currently live in for next year. Other rooms/buildings will not be visible to you on Keep My Room Day.

Note 1: Linden 1, Linden 2, Linden 4, Linden 5, Linden 7, and Linden 8 residents will not be able to
participate in Keep My Room Day. These buildings are reserved for incoming first-year freshmen for
          the upcoming academic year.

Note 2: If you live in University Court 1, University Court 4, University Court 5, or University Court 6
you may select your same room on Keep My Room Day also.

Note 3:  You can only keep your room if you fill your room on Keep My Room Day. If at the end of Keep
My Room Day, your room is not fully occupied (a double room must have 2 occupants & a triple room
must have 3 occupants), your selection will be cancelled and you will required to participate in Priority
          Room Selection Day.

Note 4: If you do not select your room on Keep My Room Day, your room will become available for
other residents to select on Priority Room Selection Day.

If I am interested in selecting a room in Graduate Housing (University Court 1), the Global Scholar's Hall (University Court 4), L.I.F.E. House (University Court 5), Honor's House (University Court 6), when would I select my room? You will be able to select your room on Wednesday, April 12. On this day, only rooms in University Court 1, University Court 4, University 5, and University Court 6 will be available for selection. Other rooms and buildings will not be visible to you in MyHousing on this day.

Note: There is a separate application process for the Global Scholar's Program, L.I.F.E. House, and the
Honor's Program. You must have been admitted into one of these programs in order to reside in the
          designated Special Living Option.

On Priority Room Selection Day (April 13), when will I be able to log-in to MyHousing to select my room?
Based on the number of completed credits a student has earned, each student will be assigned a time to log-in to MyHousing for Priority Room Selection Day. You will only be able to access the room selection features beginning at your assigned time or any time thereafter.

Note: Students with a higher number of earned credits will be assigned an earlier selection time for
          Priority Room Selection Day.

After logging into MyHousing,  you will be able to view your Priority Room Selection time at the bottom of the page in the "Room Selection" section.

My friend and I have both requested each other as roommates and we have accepted each other's request in MyHousing. However, for Priority Room Selection Day, I was assigned a 10am selection time and my requested roommate was assigned a 4pm selection time. When would we select our room?
You will be able to select your room beginning at the earlier of the two times, 10:00 am.

Note: In order to select a room with your requested roommate, you must see the below message on
the "Roommates/Suitemates" section of the "Room Selection" tab. If you do not see the below
message, neither student will be able to pull the other student into their room selection choice.

"Your roommate group is fully matched."

Both students must accept each other’s roommate request in MyHousing.

If I have been approved for a Medical Single or a Housing Accommodation when do I select my room? You will be able to select your room on Wednesday, April 12. On this day, you will only have access to ADA Compliant Rooms and Medical Singles. Other rooms/buildings will not be visible to you in MyHousing on this day.

If I am a resident that did not apply by the April 1 deadline or I am a commuter student, when am I able to select my room? You will be able to select your room during our General Room Selection period, which begins on April 14 and ends on June 1.

Note: Commuter students have the ability to participate in Keep My Room Day or Priority Room
Selection Day only if they are being pulled into a room by a current Spring resident.

If I do not participate in Keep My Room Day (April 11), Priority Room Selection Day (April 13), or the General Room Selection period (April 14 – June 1), do I still have the option to select my room and roommate?  Options are limited after the General Room Selection period ends. Students that apply after the General Room Selection period will be assigned a room and roommate by the Office of Residence Life. You will be able to indicate your requested roommate, and your living preferences, on your housing application. Every attempt will be made to honor your requests, however, your requests cannot be guaranteed. Assignments will be made based on space availability and will be processed in the order in which they are received.
