First Time in College (FTIC)/ Transfer Students Program Overview

This is the perfect time for you to attend Orientation and become a member of the FDU family!

Orientation will allow you to experience what it means to be a FDU student, both in and out of the classroom. Throughout the two days you will meet new and current FDU students and develop friendships that will stay with you throughout your college career. You will have an Orientation Leader that will assist you throughout Orientation and with your transition to FDU.

You will attend sessions that highlight university and academic resources, provide opportunities to speak with an academic advisor, have the chance to meet with FDU staff, and emphasize ways to get involved on campus through student organizations and campus events.

Your overnight stay will be filled with a variety of thought-provoking and trust-building activities. It will provide you with a great opportunity to develop friendships, experience a night in college, explore the campus, and discover life at FDU first hand.

You will be prepared, confident, and motivated for the fall semester to begin as soon as your two-day orientation experience ends. Here is a glimpse of some of the sessions that you will attend:

  • Placement Testing and Academic Schedule Planning
  • Information Fair
  • Motivational Speaker
  • Division of Student Affairs: Student Life and Residence Life
