All new students — including commuter students — are invited to attend.

  • 4 PM. Please join us for a BBQ behind the Student Union Building (SUB). Then line up for the procession across campus in front of the SUB.
  • 5:30 PM. The procession starts at the SUB and leads across the river to Wilson Auditorium in Dickinson Hall.
  • The Illumination Ceremony will immediately follow at Wilson Auditorium.
  • Light refreshments for familiies and commuter students will be served in the Rothman Center following the ceremony.

Housing and Residence Life Welcome

All first-year resident students stay at Wilson Auditorium after the Illumination Ceremony for the Housing and Residence Life welcome and presentation: "Living On-Campus at FDU". You will have the opportunity to meet the entire Housing and Residence Life staff.

New Student Pizza Social

The New Student Pizza Social in Dickinson Hall Lobby follows the presentations in Wilson Auditorium.

Floor Meetings for Residential Students

All residents are required to attend their floor or building meetings. The first meeting is especially important as it will be the first time you meet all the residents of your floor or building. The floor meetings on Move-in Day, August 25, are at 4:30 PM. Signs in each building indicate where the floor meetings will be held.
