Researching Sociology

Start on FDU’s homepage,, open “Web Shortcuts” dropdown box at left: Select “Libraries”.


1)       To find background information on your topic, go to FDU Online Library,

         Select “Social Science & Education”                                             

         Key Reference Databases: International Encyclopedia of Communication

                                                 International Encyclopedia of Marriage and Family

         Also choose Credo Reference

         Go to “Advanced Search” and type “Sociology” for reference books online


2)        To find books, go to Search Library Catalog

                     Select Location for books in “Giovatto Library” or “E-Books” to access online

                     Preview books in “Google Books”


3)        To find scholarly, magazine, or newspaper articles, go to FDU Online Library

4)      To find a scholarly article, select “peer-review” where it allows you to
