Named after the University's first campus, this 293-bed residence hall opened in September 2003. Rutherford Hall houses upperclassmen students in double bedrooms with a private bath. All rooms are independently climate-controlled. Laundry, vending and trash facilities are located near the elevator on each floor. There is also a 24-Hour Quiet Floor available.
In addition to the spacious bedrooms, each of Rutherford's five floors have common lounges for students to use as a social or study space. Rutherford Hall forms a quad with Florence and Hamilton Twombly Halls creating a large courtyard and lawn space, which becomes a social hub for students; whether they are having a BBQ, playing a wiffelball game, tanning, catching up on reading, or enjoying the newly installed swings.
