About the Academic Support Center
The Academic Support Center's mission is to assist students in fulfilling their academic potential by providing support services to a diverse student population, preparing them for the University's goal of becoming world citizens through global education.
The Academic Support Center provides academic support services free of charge to all FDU students. This includes adult learners, students with disabilities, and international students. Individualized tutoring is available in writing, mathematics, business, arts and sciences, and the University Core curriculum. The Academic Support Center also offers assistance in study skills and time management.
In addition to individualized tutoring, the Academic Support Center creates, as needed, discussion groups, review sessions, and workshops for students in specific courses or areas of study. Students in developmental courses are given supplemental help in weekly reading and mathematics labs. The tutoring staff includes professional tutors and peer tutors chosen for academic excellence in their chosen fields.
