Public Relations Graduate Assistant

The PR office creates content for and manages FDU’s website and main social media accounts, and acts as a communication liaison between the media and the University community.
We are looking for a talented and motivated Graduate Assistant to start in the spring of 2018 and ideally, work through the 2018-2019 academic year. The position is renewable on a semester-to-semester basis.
The Graduate Assistant is an integral member of the PR team and will be involved in the nuts and bolts of everything in the PR office, including writing press releases, articles for FDU’s website, managing FDU’s social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), and fielding media queries. We will count on you to bring in ideas of your own for future social media campaigns and suggestions for PR projects you think will play well for our audiences.
The position requires 20 hours of work per week (300 for the semester) and is based on FDU’s Florham Campus, in Madison, N.J.
Eligibility: Candidates must be accepted into a fulltime graduate program at Fairleigh Dickinson University and taking classes while they are employed as a GA.
Qualifications: Candidates are expected to have excellent writing skills, familiarity with major social media platforms, and grate atention to detail.
Experience in other areas of communication (such as social media management, graphic design, or photography) is preferred, but not required.
Compensation: Per semester: Free tuition for nine (9) graduate credits (fees not included) and a $2,000 stipend.
