FDU names alumnus Nicholas Devine as Volunteer of the Year

Madison, NJ (October 27, 2015)— Nicholas Devine, resident of South River, N.J. received the Volunteer of the Year Award from Fairleigh Dickinson University on October 17th, during the University’s annual Homecoming/Alumni Awards weekend.
The award is presented by the Alumni Association to an alumnus/alumna who has made significant contributions to one or more of the following areas at FDU: admissions, career development, chapters, academic programs, student life, chapters, fundraising for athletics.
Devine graduated from FDU with a B.S. in marketing in 2004. During his studies, he was a member of the Student Government Association and the Student Activities Programming Committee, worked as a tour guide and orientation leader, and served as vice president of his fraternity, Zeta Beta Tau.
Devine was recognized with the Volunteer of the Year Award for his dedication to FDU’s Young Alumni Association, serving as the events coordinator. Devine has volunteered for, and represented, the University at various functions and events, including the FDU Young Professionals meetings. He was recently honored by the Silberman College of Business as one of the top “50 under 50” alumni business leaders.
Devine is an entrepreneur — he owns and operates DJ Devine Entertainment and Photo Booths, offering disc jockey and photo booth servicing for parties, corporate events, and the like. In the past, Devine was a franchisee of Avis Rent a Car, and worked in business acquisitions and mergers for Cellular Plus. He has participated in volunteer efforts for numerous charities, including those benefitting the American Cancer Society, U.S. Marine Corps and Army, Lymphoma Leukemia Society, American Hart Association, Toys for Tots, and Easter Seals of N.J.
