Hospitality students hold annual scholarship gala
Madison, NJ (April 11, 2016) — The International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s annual gala will take place at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Florham Campus in Hennessy Hall on Sunday, April 17 from 2 - 6 p.m. The student-run event helps to award scholarships to exceptional students.
This year’s event is entitled “Salute to the Gilded Age,” a theme that honors the history of the campus. It will include a horse-drawn carriage, lawn games including croquet for guests to play, and students dressed in period-era costumes reflecting the culture of the Gilded Age. The food is inspired by the Vanderbilt’s personal chef, Joseph Donon, and will be a strolling supper highlighting classic French cuisine.
This signature ISHTM event helps students put their classroom knowledge to the test by being responsible for each aspect of the event. Students help develop a theme, and menu and food is traditionally prepared by the students under the supervision of the culinary team at the venue. Students are also involved in the front of the house food service, developing and conducting a silent auction, managing the day-of operations, decor, and overseeing sustainability practices.
The Florham Campus is located at 285 Madison Avenue, Madison, N.J. Register here. Tickets are $90 in advance, or $100 by check only at the door. For more information, please contact Dara Sanchez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
