NJ Hall of Fame Mobile Museum rolls onto FDU campus

TEANECK, NJ (March 1, 2016) — Fairleigh Dickinson University will host the New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum at the Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, N.J. from Monday, March 7, through Wednesday, March 9. The museum will be parked in the North Lot (map) and will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free and all are welcome to visit.

Every year, the New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum welcomes thousands of visitors in communities across the Garden State. Through the power of images, artifacts, film and a suite of interactive tools, New Jersey’s leaders and legends are made accessible to every curious imagination.

The New Jersey Hall of Fame’s Mobile Museum consists of a specially modified tractor-trailer, which when parked, expands to nearly 1000 square feet of exhibit space. Built around the theme “Progress Endures,” the museum highlights members of the hall of fame with artifacts and interactive exhibits, including one of Thomas Edison’s original light bulbs, a jacket Jon Bon Jovi wore on his 1980s “New Jersey Tour,” an original Les Paul guitar, and inspirational quotes from football legend Vince Lombardi.

Each exhibit focuses on important chapters in New Jersey’s history and the social, economic, scientific, cultural, and political progress the hall of fame inductees are known for.

Since its creation in 2013, more than 200,000 people have experienced the Mobile Museum. The Mobile Museum was designed by Hall of Fame inductee, celebrated architect and designer, Michael Graves, and Ralph Appelbaum Associates, renowned planner and designer of museum exhibitions.

The North Lot is accessible from Route 4 and River Road in Teaneck. Fairleigh Dickinson University is located at 1000 River Road, Teaneck, N.J. 07666. For more information, contact Jessica O’Brien at jdh@fdu.edu or 201-692-2231.
