Special Guest Speaker Kip Vreeland at FDU's Florham Campus

 

Madison, NJ (March 31, 2015) — Fairleigh Dickinson University welcomes alumnus Kip Vreeland, BS ‘85 (Ruth), back to campus on Monday, April 13th at 6 p.m. in Lenfell Hall, to speak with hospitality students and the FDU community. Vreeland is currently the chief franchise officer for Marriott International. As one of the founding brand Presidents for the Autograph Collection, Vreeland brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to our students and community.
  
Kip Vreeland is currently the chief officer of full service franchising for Marriott International, Inc. He leads a team that is responsible for the relationships with each of the full service franchise companies. Vreeland’s responsibilities include ensuring that the systems from Marriott are working appropriately, maximizing guest satisfaction as well as revenue growth. He is also in charge of ensuring that the service and product levels at the franchise hotels are acceptable and supporting the various brand strategies and initiatives. He assumed this role in July 2012.
 
Prior to his current CFO position, Vreeland served as the brand Vice President of Autograph Collection for Marriott International, Inc.  He lead the launch of this program in the United States, Europe and Asia. He was responsible for the structure and process development needed to ensure that the collection was launched successfully.
 
Vreeland joined Marriott in 1983 and held operational management positions in various hotels before moving into the revenue management discipline in 1989.  In 1997 he was promoted to regional director of revenue management for the southeast region. In September 2000, he was promoted to regional Vice President of the southeast region. Three years later, in July 2005, he assumed the role as Vice President of revenue strategy for the central region.  In March of 2008, he was promoted to regional Vice President of market strategy in the eastern region.
 
Vreeland is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and holds a Bachelor’s of Science  in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.
