Growing your business to be out of this world

Madison, NJ – On November 28, FDU’s Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship hosted its first ever Small Business Series program designed to help small business owners with growing their businesses.

Keynote speaker, Greg Olsen BS’66, BSEE’68, MS’68 (Metro), kicked off the event with stories about his entrepreneurial journeys and living out his dream of visiting the International Space Station. Then, Michele Siekerka, president of the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, spoke about how to survive in Main Street America as a small business owner.

Omer Topaloglu, assistant professor of digital marketing, moderated the panel discussion on leveraging technology.

Small business owners had a choice between a breakout session focused on asset protection or one on raising capital, before attending a panel discussion on how to leverage technology. Omer Topaloglu, assistant professor of digital marketing in the Silberman College of Business, moderated the panel discussion, which largely touched upon the importance of growing one’s business through search engine optimization and social media marketing. The day concluded with a panel discussion on building brand awareness and strategic planning.
