Trade association members tour Becton Hall labs
Representatives from the Gildart Haase School of Computer Sciences and Engineering and the Office of University Advancement welcomed officers and members of The Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey (MCANJ) to Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus earlier this spring.
At the event, FDU honored MCANJ, thanking the association for its continued support over the past 14 years, and presented a plaque to honor the enduring partnership.
University President Christopher Capuano expressed his gratitude to MCANJ before touring the new state-of-the-art engineering and computer labs in Becton Hall with the guests.
Another plaque, in memory of Alan O’Shea, former executive director of MCANJ, and in recognition of his guidance of FDU students and faculty, was unveiled and mounted outside of the Fluids and HVAC lab.
MCANJ is a trade association “serving the mechanical contracting industry of New Jersey.” Its member companies employ workers from labor unions who work on the design, development, installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and piping and plumbing systems.
