Knights men's basketball dances in the NCAA Tourney

The FDU Knights, thrilling turnaround season came to an end in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament with a 96-65 loss to Florida Gulf Coast.

Last year, the Knights had an 8-21 record and finshed last in the Northeast Conference. This year, Coach Greg Herrenda led the Knights to a conference championship and rode a 5-game winning streak to FDU's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005.

The Fairleigh Dickinson men's basketball team will play its first game of the 2016 NCAA Tournament on Tuesday night in Dayton, Ohio. The Knights (18-14) will take on the Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast (20-13) in the First Four and will have the honor of being the tournament's first game. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on television by TruTV and on radio by Westwood One (more info).

The FDU Knights hit six second half three-pointers and shot 50-percent from the floor to beat Wagner 87-79 in the Northeast Conference Tournament Championship Game to secure the Knights' first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2005. (Game story:
