NFL leadership program at FDU mentors high school athletes

On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, The National Football League’s Leadership Program came to the Florham Campus.

Part of the NFL’s H.S.P.D. (High School Player Development) the Leadership Programs brought high school students from around New Jersey interacted with FDU athletics staff and FDU Devils athletes.

In the morning, the high school athletes spent time making meals at the New Jersey Foodbank in Hillside.

After returning to campus, they took a campus tour and spent the afternoon in several sessions. One was led by FDU athletes in the Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) and covered balancing athletics, education, and the rest of the college experience. Another was led by FDU coaches and covered recruiting and playing a sport in college.HDSP group

The day concluded with a visit to the New York Jets practice facility, across the street from campus in Florham Park, where the high school student athletes took part in a character development session
