Talib Kweli and Quincy Troupe

Poet Quincy Troupe and Hip-Hop Artist Talib Kweli appeared together at FDU's WAMFEST 2012. Troupe is an award-winning author of eight volumes of poetry, three children’s books and six nonfiction works. Among many other works, Troupe co-authored Chris Gardner’s memoir, The Pursuit of Happyness, which later became a major motion picture and was a New York Times bestseller for over 40 weeks.

For over 15 years, Kweli has been a force in New York’s hip-hop scene. Kweli collaborated with artist Mos Def on the 1998 album Black Star. On the album Train of Thought, Kweli teamed up with Hi Tek to form Reflection Eternal, a virtuoso hip-hop duo. Performing all over the world Kweli has worked with artists as diverse as Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, MF Doom, Mary J. Blige, Fabolous, Common, Nelly, The Roots, Gucci Mane, Norah Jones, KRS-One and many more.
