Assistant Professor of Accounting
Professor Fried joined FDU as an assistant professor in 2016. He received both his PhD and M.S. Accounting degrees from the C.T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston where his dissertation proposal won the Best Bauer Dissertation Proposal award in 2015. Prior to entering academia, he gained valuable experience as an accountant and accounting analyst for an energy company in Houston, Texas.
Professor Fried currently teaches Advanced Accounting and Auditing courses at the Masters level but has in the past taught introductory and intermediate accounting courses for undergraduates.
Professor Fried’s research interests include empirical research in the areas of auditor choice, audit quality, debt contracts, earnings management, executive compensation and corporate governance. Some of his recent work has been published in the International Journal of Disclosure and Governance.
