Mr. Markowski is presently the Deputy Director of Emergency Management, Transportation and Public Safety at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. He retired after completing 29 years of service in law enforcement. During his career he served in the City of Passaic Police Department as a uniformed police officer and detective and later transferred to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office where he completed his law enforcement career.
Mr. Markowski’s assignments included high profile homicide investigations, criminal investigations, an assignment at the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, (the Meadowlands Sports Complex), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. While assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation he held a “Top Secret” National Security Clearance and assigned to highly confidential assignments including electronic surveillances, undercover operations and the security of terrorist investigation related information in the New Jersey and New York region. He has experience as a responder and administrator involving large-scale incidents and investigations and is National Incident Management System certified, (N.I.M.S.)
Mr. Markowski served at the County of Bergen Law & Public Safety Institute in Mahwah, New Jersey as the In-Service training coordinator as well as speaker for a nationally based training company and has been featured in the Sunday New York Times.
