Assistant Professor of Accounting
Prior to joining the faculty at FDU, Scott taught for five years as Assistant Professor of Accounting at Western Connecticut State University.
Before joining academia, he had twenty-five years of professional experience. His most recent position was as Chief Financial Officer for a life insurance company, American Medical Life Insurance. Prior to that role, he was with AXA-Equitable for seven years as a Vice President and Senior Vice President.
Additional experience includes being the Controller for the mutual fund business of GE Financial, serving as the Controller & Chief Accounting Officer for First UNUM Life Insurance and the Treasurer for Investors Insurance Group.
His education includes Doctorate of Professional Studies (Accounting and Finance) from Pace University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (Fl), Certified Management Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst. His research interests include capital market reactions to accounting information and his research has been published in Accounting Horizons, IMA Educational Case Journal and International Journal of Economics and Accounting.
