Assistant Director - Corporate and Foundation Relations
Marilyn Gross teaches "Grant Writing and Administration" and "Planning and Program Development" for FDU's School of Administrative Science. In addition, Marilyn is FDU's Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
Marilyn Gross has been a writer and editor, providing content for many print and online publications. She publishes an e-newsletter called "THE INTERNET INSIDER - for Nonprofits, Grantseekers & Fundraisers" and several books-on-disk, including "300 Top Websites for Nonprofits," "300 Top Websites for Grantseekers," and "300 Top Websites for Fundraisers." She has headed her own consulting company, Educational Funding Strategies, Ltd., providing in-person and distance learning training for nonprofit and educational organizations.
Marilyn was a Program Officer with the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation (a mid-sized grantmaking family foundation in NYC) for more than 8 years. During that time, she was chair of the New York City Network of Women and Foundations/Corporate Philanthropy.
Through her company, Educational Funding Strategies, Marilyn has created and taught more than a dozen different low-tech Distance Learning courses. She has also provided distance learning courses in partnership with other organizations, including St. Thomas Aquinas College, Philanthropy News Network, National Association of Fundraising Professionals (now AFP), Grant Guides Plus, Inc., Rockland Teachers' Center, and The American Hospital Association's Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care.
Marilyn has a Masters degree from The University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration and a BA in Psychology from the University of Rochester. She lives in Rockland County, New York.
