Karen Lewis, Ph.D.

Assistant Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations

Karen joined the Office of University Advancement in 2002. As Assistant Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, she sets the strategy and manages the operations for the Fund for FDU and  Alumni Relations programs. Working with a team of talented development professionals and volunteers, Karen’s work focuses on two primary objectives: sustainably growing the University’s unrestricted pipeline, and supporting new and existing programs to encourage active alumni involvement in the life of the Fairleigh Dickinson University community.

Prior to Advancement, she worked in the Office of Residence Life at William Paterson College, managing a diverse residential community. She later returned to her alma mater, and served as the Director of Residence Life at The Metropolitan Campus before going on to serve as the Director of Annual Giving and most recently served as the Senior Director of Principal Gifts. The positions in University Advancement provided an opportunity for her to apply her student development theory working with students to invigorate the class gift program as well as the engagement and generosity of alumni. Karen is a graduate of the FDU Rutherford Campus, earning her BA in Psychology and a MAT in Teaching ESL from the Metropolitan Campus.
