John C. Porto, J.D., is Assistant County Counsel for the County of Cape May, where he is in-house counsel to the County’s Board of Chosen Freeholders, and County Administrator. He previously served as Assistant County Counsel for the County of Atlantic for three years, and in private practice concentrating on civil litigation. In 1991, he was a Law Clerk to the Honorable Albert J. Garofolo of the Superior Court of New Jersey. He earned a Juris Doctorate form the University of Akron School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Glassboro State College (now known as Rowan University). Mr. Porto is a member of the New Jersey State Bar and also practices before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He coordinates the annual Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition on behalf of the Cape May County Bar Association, and serves as a volunteer for the Literacy Volunteers of America.
