Ismael Rivera, Jr., BS, MAS
Detective Sergeant First Class Rivera is a 23 year veteran of the New Jersey State Police. He is currently the Evidence Management Unit Supervisor for the Forensic Science Bureau. His previous assignments included the State Regulatory & Services Bureau, the Criminal Investigation Bureau, and the Applicant Investigation and Compliance Bureau. Detective Sergeant First Class Rivera is also a New Jersey State Police Firearms Instructor.
He has received several awards including; three NJSP Superintendent's Letters of Commendation, numerous Letters of Appreciation from the Attorney General's Office, and a letter of appreciation from the United States Department of Justice FBI Director Louis J. Freeh in Washington, DC. DSFC Rivera received a Division of State Police Certificate of Commendation for Outstanding
Performance in a Criminal Investigation.
Detective Sergeant First Class Rivera earned his B.S in Human Services from Thomas Edison State College and a MSA in General Administration from Central Michigan University.
He is an Adjunct Instructor in the Fairleigh Dickinson University's School of Administrative Science BAIS program.
