Farshad Sarmad, Lecturer, has over ten years of experience in operations management, project management, strategic marketing, and consulting within the Food & Beverage industry. He has recently started a product development and marketing consulting company specialized in the FMCG sector, located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Mr. Sarmad is a DBA Candidate at the International School of Management in Paris, France. He holds an MBA in Global Management, as well as a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering. His principal research areas include; cross cultural studies of leadership and management issues, culture and change management, effective strategies of emerging market firms, and new product management best practices in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Farshad has a journal publication in ISM Journal of International Business. His article is entitled “Optimizing Product Development Projects-IFI Inc.: a Case Study in the Food and Beverage Industry” (accepted for publication – in press). He is also a contributing author of a textbook entitledManagerial Economics: Economic Tools for Today's Decision Makers, Keat, Young and Erfle, Pearson Prentice-Hall, 7th Edition (forthcoming in 2013), in which he wrote Chapter 15, "The Global Soft Drink Industry".
Having various hobbies and interests, Farshad is an avid swimmer and he is currently training for entering a triathlon competition in 2014.
