Carmela M. Raiti
Ms. Raiti has been an adjunct faculty member of FDU’s School of Administrative Science since 1998. Her coursework includes Grant Writing and Administration, Organizational Decision Making, Marketing for Non-Profits, Program Design and Planning, Productivity and Performance in the Workplace, as well as FDU’s Certified Public Management program.
Ms. Raiti's professional work experience in the non-profit arena spans 29 years - 12 years within the urban areas of New York City, 12 years with the communities of New Jersey, and 5 years of international development. Her work experience includes work with independent organizations, the corporate sector, the community and family foundations.
She has been affiliated with many notable organizations including the United Ways, US Fund for UNICEF, the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts, Catholic Charities and Common Ground.
Her various roles throughout her career have strongly centered on philanthropy – from serving as a philanthropic advisor, to the development of strategic initiatives to conducting and directing grant making programs. In this capacity, she has served as a catalyst for attracting the support of individuals and institutions to worthwhile causes and building their partnership. She has created avenues for the private sector to become involved with their communities.
She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College, majoring in administrative practice and group work. Her post graduate studies include several certificates in the areas of excellence in leadership, proposal development, organizational and fiscal management, grant administration and program planning.
