Important message regarding IRS Data Retrieval

To protect sensitive taxpayer data, the IRS and FSA announced on March 30,2017, the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) on fafsa.gov and StudentLoans.gov will be unavailable until extra security protections can be added.

We do not expect you to be able to use the IRS DRT in your FAFSA until October 2017. Please refer to your 2015 tax return and import the numbers manually from the lines requested on your FAFSA, and order a tax return transcript from the IRS at www.irs.gov.

Federal Direct Loan Borrowers

All students who are receiving Direct Loans for the first time at FDU must complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note before their loans funds can be disbursed. You may complete it online anytime, anywhere at www.studentloans.gov. It will take about 20-30 minutes to complete the session. We will receive confirmation in approximately 3-4 days after completion. All loans must be accepted on WebAdvisor in addition to completing your Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling.

How to Accept your Award Offer via WebAdvisor

In order to accept your financial aid award, you must first log in to FDU WebAdvisor. You will be prompted to log in using your user ID and password. Once you are at the main page, click on accept or reject my financial awards under “Financial Aid.” Select the appropriate aid year in the drop down menu and click submit. Your aid will appear with drop down boxes to accept or decline the aid. Once you click submit, a terms and conditions tab will open which you will need to accept. **If you would like to accept a different amount of the loan shown, please contact the Financial Aid Office**
