Special Course for HS Juniors and Seniors--

FILM 1004  Filmaking I for HS Students

Learn the basics of filmaking and visual communications from a media pro - Professor Vincent Guagenti, who will teach real world production techniques used in the TV and movie industries. Offered Summer Session I - June 16 thru July 26, 2014; Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-8:30 pm at the College at Florham. Course is 3 college credits (Part-Time Tuition and Fees apply). Summer Teaching Academy

The Summer Teaching Academy is an exciting, two-week-long immersion program in teaching offered at no charge by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of Education to encourage rising high school seniors who are considering a teaching career.

Focused Thinking™ on the SAT

Why wander? Learn how to stay focused while taking the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Students find Training by Interactive Problem Solving (T.I.P.S.) a effective method to develop reading and reasoning skills for life. “Coaching the Mind” addresses the immediate in a think-aloud environment that helps to return attention to the task at hand. This summer program is offered on both the Metropolitan Campus in Bergen County and the College at Florham in Morris County. [Read more]

ComputerTeens – Applications in Geospatial Science

High school students in grades 10-12 explore a world of opportunities. New: Students look at Internet Mapping servers that help connect people to places, local challenges and global resources. Concepts of Geographic Information and Cloud Technology advancements such as phone apps are discussed. [Read more]

High School Leaders - Community Leadership

Students entering 8th, 9th and 10th grade develop leadership skills through environmental stewardship. Exploring the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's clearinghouse of environmental information, students plan to restore stream health on campus and within their communities. Field trips and hands-on workshops increase team building and character development. Through greenhouse awareness and creative problem solving, students gain confidence in their ability to organize, plan and implement environmental restoration and protection. [Read more]

Leader in Training Program for Pre-Teens and Teens

An exciting program for students entering Grades 8-9, offering real-life leadership experience while building critical skills in team building, conflict management, group dynamics, organization and more. Includes terrific field trips in New York and New Jersey!  [Read more]

Summer Experience: A College Prep Program for High School Students with Learning Disabilities

Running in July, this two-week summer program is offered by FDU’s award winning Regional Center for College Students with Learning Disabilities. It is designed for graduating high school students and rising seniors with a history of learning disabilities who are planning to make the transition from high school to college. The program will give students a better understanding of their learning strengths and weaknesses, help them develop stronger self-advocacy skills and better time management and organizational skills.  Cost is  to be announced. Discover Business Teen Camp

Offered on both the College at Florham and Metropolitan Campus by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies, the University’s Top 20-ranked entrepreneurship center. The program will include teamwork and leadership, communications, networking, finance, marketing and market research, and entrepreneurship and business planning. The program is open to teens entering grades 9 to 12 in fall of 2014. [Read more]
