University Provost’s Scholarship Program for Graduate Study
All students admitted to a master’s program beginning with the spring 2013 semester who plan to register for a minimum of 6 credits may apply. Eligible candidates must have a minimum undergraduate CGPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and standardized test scores acceptable for admission. The University Provost’s Scholarship awards range from $100 per credit to $300 per credit and may not be combined with other University scholarship or assistantship assistance. Students enrolled in graduate study as part of a combined (bachelor’s/master’s) degree program or enrolled in a master’s program with a non-standard tuition rate are not eligible. Alumni/Trustee Endorsement Grant
A graduate student recommended to the University by an alumnus/a or a University Trustee and then admitted to an FDU graduate program is eligible for a one-time $1,000 grant for the first year of attendance. To qualify for this grant, the student must have submitted a complete Admissions Application along with the Alumni-Trustee Endorsement Graduate Level Grant Referral Form to the Office of Admissions before being accepted. The applicant must be enrolled as a full-time, matriculated student carrying at least 9 credits of graduate work per semester during their first year of attendance.
Fellowships provide funding for full tuition scholarships (up to 9 credits per semester). Fellowships are managed within the academic area to which the student is studying or planning to study. Therefore, all inquiries should be directed to the appropriate academic program administrator. The receipt of a fellowship supercedes other FDU financial aid funding.
Graduate Business Fellowship
Recipients of graduate business fellowships assist with the administration of special programs within the College of Business Administration for 720 hours per academic year (360 hours per semester). Stipend compensation is $4,000.00 per academic year ($2,000.00 per semester).
Honors Research Fellowship
Responsibilities of the honors research fellowship include 12 hours of teaching per academic year (six hours of teaching per semester) and 500 hours of research assistance per calendar year. Stipend compensation is $4,800.00 per calendar year.

Graduate Administrative Assistant Fellowship
Recipients of graduate administrative assistant fellowships assist with the administration of programs within the admissions, financial aid, career management and other administrative areas of the University for 720 hours per academic year (360 hours per semester). Stipend compensation is $4,000.00 per academic year ($2000.00 per semester).
FDU Family Plan
The spouse or dependent child of a matriculated, full-time (minimum of 9 credits per semester) graduate student may be eligible to receive the FDU Family Plan grant if the spouse or child is also enrolled at the University as a full-time matriculated student. The FDU Family Plan grant is valued up to $1,500.00 per academic year ($750.00 per semester). Inquiries may be directed to the Office of Financial Aid. Please note that not all graduate and undergraduate programs are not included for eligibility of this particular grant program.
Alumni Grad Grant
Effective fall 2001, an alumnus/a of the University may be eligible for the Alumni Grad Grant in the amount of $100 per credit. The alumnus/a must be matriculated. The grant cannot be used in conjunction with any other University tuition discount and/or University scholarship/grant. Contact the Graduate Admissions Office for further details.
Privately Funded Scholarships
Johnson & Johnson Scholarship
The Johnson & Johnson Scholarship provides funding for minority doctoral candidates enrolled in the Ph.D. in clinical psychology program at the Teaneck-Hackensack Campus. Inquiries should be made to the academic administrator of the clinical psychology program.
Peter Sammartino Scholarship
The Peter Sammartino Scholarship fund was made available through gifts and trusts left to the University by the late Dr. and Mrs. Peter Sammartino. Scholarships are available to graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the education programs. Scholarship awards range from $500.00 to half tuition per academic year. Inquiries should be made to the Office of Financial Aid.
Sylvia and Peter Sammartino Scholarship
The Sylvia and Peter Sammartino Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship. The scholarship is available to both part and full-time students, with consideration given to those students enrolled in the FDU Honor's Program and those who have given service to the University. Inquiries should be made to the Office of Financial Aid.
Additional Financial Options
FDU Employee Tuition Grant Program
FDU employees and dependents are eligible to enroll for courses at the University on a "space available" basis. The Employee Tuition Grant Program covers tuition fees only and supercedes any other FDU funding. Employee Tuition Grants for graduate credits are taxed as earned income, as per the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Tuition Reimbursement from Employers
Many corporations and businesses provide tuition assistance to qualified employees. Any student employed full time should inquire with the human resources/benefits coordinator at his/her company.
Corporate Reimbursement Deferred Payment Plan
Students who receive corporate reimbursement may be eligible to defer tuition payment until 30 days after the completion of the course. There is a 4 percent service charge for the deferred payment option. Inquiries should be directed to the Office of Enrollment Services.
