Program Objectives


  1. Students will understand the psychological and biological bases of  criminal behavior.
  2. Students will understand basic statistical procedures and research methods.
  3. Students will understand clinical theories, practice, and testing with forensic clients.  
  4. Students will understand the basics of criminal responsibility and competency.
  5. Students will understand the spectrum of assessment instruments employed in forensic psychology, as well as the bases for risk assessment and common scales used.   
  6. Students will understand assessment and diagnosis of psychopathological conditions.
  7. Students will understand the unique concerns and demands of interviewing forensic clients.
  8. Students will understand the unique ethical issues raised in forensic practice.
  9. Students will satisfactorily complete a minimum 300-hour externship.
  10. Students will satisfactorily pass a Comprehensive Examination.
