Graduate Certificate in Computer Security


Objective: 

To provide expertise in hardening computer systems, as well as in establishing information security policies and business continuation planning in organizations.

Prerequisites

Admission to the certificate program requires a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a satisfactory academic record.

Curriculum

18 credits are to be taken from the following courses:

CSCI5525     Introduction to Computer Science
CSCI6731     Computer Networks
CSCI6869     Network Security
CSCI6873     Firewalls and Intrusion Detection Systems
CSCI7741     Disaster Recovery
CSCI7783     Information Security

Prerequisites

Students must satisfy the prerequisites of the courses that they will take.

Tuition

Special tuition rate is available at 33 1/3% off the regular tuition rate for eligible students.

Academic Credits

Courses with number 6000 or higher completed through this certificate program can be credited toward the M.S. Computer Science program. Other courses may be substituted with prior approval of the Academic Advisor.
