50% discount for certain specified alumni of the MST program at FDU

When applicable, this discount which is limited in scope, suprecedes the 20% discount. It is not available to  new students, nor to students who graduated from the progam before fall 2003. This discount is made available only for MST students who were matriculated in the program when the program load was reduced, first, to 33 credits in the fall 2003, and then to 30 credits in the fall 2005. This discount is intended to alleviate, albeit in small measure, the effect of each reduction in credit load having been made  prospective only.

Specifically, students who were subject to the 36 credit load as of the fall 2003, which is the semester in which the program load was reduced to 33 credits for newly admitted students, have to complete an additional  6 credits (2 classes) over and beyond the 30 credit load now in effect. Such students are eligible for a 50% tuition discount on up to four classes (12 credits) upon returning to complete any of the four Graduate Tax Certificates. Effectively, after discounting and assuming a student returns for four classes, the cost of such student's last 6 credits (2 classes) taken while in the MST program will have been fully earned back via the 50% discount.

Similarly, students who were subject to the 33 credit load as of fall 2005, which is the semester in which the program was reduced to 30 credits for newly admitted students, have to complete an additional 3 credits (1 class) over and beyond the new 30 credit load now in effect. Such students are eligible for a 50% tuition discount on up to two classes (6 credits) upon returning to complete any of the four Graduate Tax Certificates. Effectively, after discounting and assuming the student returns for two classes, the cost of such student's last three credits (1 class) taken while in the MST program will have been fully earned back via the 50% discount.
