Graduate Certificate Course Requirements

All courses are two credits unless noted as three credit courses

 

1. Accounting:

For a Certificate in Accounting, students must complete the following five courses (13 credits)

1. ACCT 5012: Financial Accounting – End User *

2. ACCT 6012: Managerial Accounting Applications *

3. ACCT 6630: Intermediate Financial Accounting (3 credits)

4. ACCT 6640: Advanced Financial Accounting (3 credits)

5. ACCT 6635: Contemporary Accounting Thought (3 credits)

In addition, they have to complete any two courses (6 credits) from the following list:

6. ACCT 6617: Cost: Measurement, Plan & Control (3 credits )

7. ACCT 6618: Auditing Concepts and Methods (3 credits)

8. ACCT 6605: Federal Income Tax I – Individual (3 credits)

9. ACCT 6606: Federal Income Tax II – Business Entities (3 credits)

2. Entrepreneurship:

For a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, students must complete the following six courses (12 credits):

1. MKTG 5012: Principles of Marketing*

2. ENTR 6012: Entrepreneurship & Innovation*

3. ENTR 6112: Strategic Innovation Management

4. ENTR 6101: Small Business Management

5. ENTR 6102: Entrepreneurial Finance

6. ENTR 7012: Entrepreneurship Capstone*

In addition, they have to complete any three courses (6 credits) from the following list:

1. ENTR 6301: Family Business Management

2. ENTR 6800: Graduate Independent Study in Entrepreneurship

3. MKTG 6606: Direct and Interactive Marketing

4. MKTG 6602: Marketing Research

5. MGMT 6112: Managing Sustainably in a Global Environment

3. Finance:

For a Certificate in Finance, students must complete the following six courses (12 credits):

1. FIN 5012: Principles of Finance*

2. FIN 6012: Corporate Finance*

3. ECON 6012: Managerial Economics*

4. FIN 6701: Strategic Financial Decisions

5. FIN 6721: Financial Markets and investments

6. FIN 6731: Portfolio Management

In addition, students will be required to complete any three courses (6 credits) from an approved list of finance electives:

1. FIN 6742: Global Finance

2. FIN 6751: Mergers and Acquisitions 

3. FIN 6112: Finance Decisions for a Sustainable Enterprise

4. FIN 6800: Graduate Independent Study in Finance

5. FIN 6801: Seminar in Corporate Finance

4. Information Systems

For a Certificate in Information Systems, students must complete the following six courses (12 credits):

1. DSCI 5012: Statistical Data Analysis*

2. MIS 6012: Information Systems for Managers*

3. MIS 6716: E-commerce Principles and Technologies

4. MIS 6721: Database Management for Business

5. MIS 6836: Business Intelligence for Managers

6. MIS 6841: Information Security Management 

In addition, they have to complete any three courses (6 credits) from the following list:

1. MIS 7131: Business Information Systems Development

2. MIS 7236: Data Mining

3. MIS 7341: Accounting information Systems

4. MIS 7356: Strategic Information Systems

5. International Business

For a Certificate in International Business, students must complete the following five courses (10 credits):

5. IBUS 6020: Economics of International Trade

In addition, they have to complete any four courses (8 credits) from the following list:

4. IBUS 6800: Graduate Independent Study in International Business

For a Certificate in Management, students must complete the following seven courses (14 credits):

5. MGMT 6633: Leadership & Change Management

In addition, they have to complete the following two courses (4 credits) from the following list:

1. MGMT 6625: Managing a Healthy Workforce

2. MGMT 6700: Negotiation and Conflict Management

For a Certificate in Marketing, students must complete the following five courses (10 credits):

For a Certificate in Pharmaceutical Management, students must complete the following five courses (12 credits):

4. PHAR 6601: Health Systems and Policy (3 credits)

In addition, they have to complete any three courses (6 credits) from the following list:

1. PHAR 6606: Structure, Regulation, and Strategy of the Pharmaceutical Industry

2. PHAR 66151: Pharmaceutical Marketing and Product Development

3. PHAR 6640: Management of Research & Technology in the Pharmaceutical Industry
