Mentoring and Internships
- To provide students with an opportunity to interact with experienced entrepreneurs or senior level managers and gain a better understanding of their companies, jobs and experiences. These mentors will serve as role models and informal advisors for the students.
- To provide entrepreneurs and executives the opportunity to develop relationships with students and offer insight gained from their career and personal experiences. This program allows these business people to give back while at the same time learn about the new generation of college students.
- To create new, and strengthen current relationships between business leaders and the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies.
The mentoring relationship
This mentoring program is administered by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies. Entrepreneurs and executives are matched with students on both campuses majoring in Entrepreneurial Studies at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The mentoring relationship typically lasts between one and three years. Though the involved parties dictate the frequency and nature of the contact, we highly recommend that students meet with their mentors at least two times a year.
The internship program is a matching program that connects the business and entrepreneurial community with undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship students who are seeking job opportunities. Internships can be found at regional start-ups, venture capital firms, family businesses, corporations and non-profits.
