Research Activities that have been conducted through the Center for Human Resource Management Studies (CHRMS) from 1992 to 1999:
1993-1999: Employee Attitudes Research. CHRMS has organized ongoing employee surveys and focus groups for several major international firms. The results of these studies have been presented at numerous academic and practitioner forums.
1995-1999: CHRMS sponsored and ran twenty-four (24) Research Seminars. These presentation-discussion sessions are designed to share the research process and results with practitioners and other researchers.
1999: Participated in and facilitated a collaborative research project for the Veterans Administration on "Low Level Violence." Seven researchers and six V.A. executives and professionals participated in this day-long session. The result is an on-going organization-wide collaborative research project.
1999: Eastern Academy of Management. CHRMS faculty established a life-giving theme and life giving track for the Conference. By J. Harmon, D. Harris, and J. Neil.
1999: Practitioner track. Headed up a one-day practitioner track at the Eastern Academy. Organized and Chaired a two-session program on "Collaborative Action Research." By D. Twomey, D. Harris, D. Kowalski, J. Wirtenberg, M. McGrath, D. Coghlin, and R. Chisholm in Philadelphia, PA.
1999: Showcase Symposium: Organized a featured session on "The Life-Giving Workplace: An inquiry into What it is, How it is Generated, and Why it Matters." By R. Twomey, D. Harris, J. Harmon, and D. Twomey in Philadelphia, PA.
1999: Field analysis project: Student project presented at a refereed academic conference and published in the proceedings. "The Effects of Competency Programs on Organizational Systems and Strategies." By S. Aihara, D. Arnold, M. Graham, J. Smith, and M. Wray.
1999: Field analysis project: Student project presented at a refereed academic conference and published in the proceedings. "The Right Stuff: Attaining the 'Right' Information about Human Aspects to Facilitate Business Decisions." By L. Kazanchy, S. Barber, and R. Englese.
1998: A symposium - Academy of Management. Organized and chaired session, "Innovative Alliances in Management Education and Training." By D. Ulrich, R. Corry, President, LearnShare, J. Goldstein, President, Business Channel, E. Boswell, V.P. Forum Corp. and D. Twomey, Director, CHRMS.
1998: National Survey of Corporate Universities. In collaboration with Corporate University Review and LearnShare representatives from Ohio State and Arizona State Universities conducted a national survey about the characteristics and plans of corporate universities.

1997: Symposium. Organized, chaired, and presented at an international meeting, "Business-University Linkages: International Comparisons,” Managing in a Global Economy VII, in Dublin, Ireland with E. Halleus, A. Walsh, and D. Twomey.
1997: One-day Practitioner Track. Created a joint session between the Eastern Academy of Management and CHRMS to create a practitioner track and obtain a substantial executive audience in New Brunswick, NJ.
1997: Showcase Symposium. Organized and chaired session ,“Partnering to Increase the Velocity of Strategy Implementation,” Eastern Academy of Management, with G. Thomson, Sr. V.P. Owens Corning, John Seeger, and D. Twomey, Director, CHRMS, in New Brunswick, NJ.
