Dr. Anastasia Rivkin

Assistant Dean for Faculty


Biography

Dr. Anastasia Rivkin joined the School of Pharmacy in July 2012. As the Assistant Dean for Faculty and Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Rivkin leads the faculty to develop and continuously improve state-of-the-art curriculum, teaches pharmacy practice courses, conducts research and ensures that accreditation standards related to faculty are met.

Dr. Rivkin received her B.S. in pharmaceutical sciences in 1998 and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2000 from the College of Pharmacy at North Dakota State University, graduating summa cum laude. She went on to complete her post-graduate ASHP-accredited residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT.   

After completing her training, Dr. Rivkin joined Long Island University Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She worked there for over a decade, starting with a faculty appointment in the division of pharmacy practice. Dr. Rivkin educated students and provided clinical pharmacy services as a critical care pharmacy specialist at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center in Manhattan for over 10 years. In the last three years at Long Island University and prior to joining FDU, Dr. Rivkin was leading the Division of Pharmacy Practice as Division Director.

Dr. Rivkin is the lead author of multiple peer-reviewed publications that appear in high-impact pharmacy and medical journals, such as Pharmacotherapy, Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Clinical Therapeutics, American Journal of Health Systems Pharmacy, Drugs of Today and Journal of Critical Care. She is also a co-author of the textbook “Pharmacotherapy Principles and Practice,” now in its second edition. Dr. Rivkin is excited to join the FDU School of Pharmacy to help lead its way into the future of pharmacy profession.

Dr. Rivkin is a registered pharmacist in New York and New Jersey. She has been a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist since 2002.
